Reconstructing social psychology

The twenty contributors to this volume share the view that its over-dependence on psychology has distorted the way the subject has developed, making for a focus on behaviour rather then experience, a mechanistic, individualistic approach and an incapacity to consider, let alone handle, the social environment. Is social psychology about people or not?
